Who we are
Oregon IQ is a product of Gateway Communications (“we”, “us”). This policy explains what we collect, what we do with it, and how long we keep it. Questions: team@gatewayci.com.
1. Public election data
Our maps, contribution tracking, and voter counts are built from public records — the Oregon Secretary of State voter file and campaign finance filings. Aggregate counts shown on the site are rounded to protect individual privacy; we do not display individual voter records to anonymous visitors.
2. Your account
When you create an account we store your name, email address, and — if you register an organization — the organization’s name, address, and the contact details you provide. We use them to sign you in, to bill you, and to contact you about your work with us. We do not sell them.
3. Data you upload to us (“Enhance your list”)
If you upload a list for enhancement, this section governs it.
What we take. You tell us which of your columns are which. We only process the fields you map — name, address, and any existing phone numbers or email addresses. Every other column is carried through untouched and handed back to you exactly as you supplied it; we do not read, analyse, or store it separately.
Where it lives. Your uploaded file is stored on our server’s disk, outside the web root, and is never loaded into our databases. Our database records only the job itself — file name, row count, the column mapping you chose, and billing figures.
Who else sees it. To find new phone numbers and email addresses we send the mapped fields to specialist data vendors (currently Accurate Append and Peach Tree) over encrypted, key-pinned connections. They process it under their own contracts and return matches to us. No vendor submission ever happens automatically — a person at Gateway reviews and approves each job first.
Contacts you already have. If you include phone numbers or emails you already hold, we pass them to the vendors as suppression values. That means you are never charged for a contact you already have, and we do not receive a duplicate of it.
How long we keep it. Your source data is held for a maximum of 14 days after your enhanced file becomes available to download, then permanently removed from our systems. Your enhanced file stays available to download again for 7 days after you first download it, then it is removed too. If you never download it, it is removed with your source data.
Files we can’t read. If your file isn’t in a format we handle and you ask us to process it manually, we store the file exactly as you sent it and never open it programmatically. Those files are removed after 14 days if we haven’t acted on them.
4. Lists you buy from us
When you buy voter records, we keep a record of what you bought and when, so we can support and bill you. The delivered list is yours.
5. Payment
We do not collect or store payment card details. Invoicing and payment are handled outside the application, and we record only whether an invoice has been paid.
6. What we never do
- We never sell your uploaded data, your account details, or your lists.
- We never use one customer’s uploaded data to serve another customer.
- We never combine your uploaded data with our voter file to build a profile of your contacts beyond the enhancement you asked for.
7. Security
Access is restricted to Gateway staff who need it. Servers are firewalled with default-deny, monitored for intrusion, and administrative access is restricted by key and IP address. Vendor transfers use pinned-key encrypted connections. No system is perfect; if a breach affects your data we will tell you.
8. Your choices
You can ask us what we hold about you, correct it, or ask us to delete your account and its data, at team@gatewayci.com. Uploaded data deletes itself on the schedule in section 3 without you asking.
9. Cookies
We use cookies that are strictly necessary to keep you signed in and to protect the site from abuse. We do not use advertising cookies and do not track you across other sites.
10. Changes
If we change this policy we will update the date above. If a change means we keep your data longer or use it in a new way, we will tell you before it takes effect.
